چکیده

Bioinformatics has become indispensable to all fields in the life sciences. Its importance and impact to both theoretical and applied biology cannot be overestimated. The rapid progress of genome projects has brought a vast accumulation of molecular biological information in the past decade. Millions of nucleic acid sequences with billions of bases have been deposited in EMBL, GenBank and DDBJ. Both SwissProt and PIR form the basis of annotated protein sequence database together with TrEMBL and GenPept which are computer translated sequence entries from EMBL and GenBank, Hundreds of specialist databases have been derived from the above primary sequence databases, such as TRANSFAC (gene regulation sites and transciption factors), Vector (DNA cloning vectors), EPD (eukaryotic promoters), PROSITE (protein motif sites), BLOCKS (protein alignments), PRINTS (protein fingerprints), REBASE (restriction enzymes.) Special web servers for model systems such as GoldenPath and ENSEMBL have been actively developed.

Swiss EMBnet node web server

EMBnet is a consortium of collaborating bioinformatics groups located mainly within Europe (http://www.embnet.org). Each member country is represented by a 'node', a group responsible for the maintenance of local services for their users (e.g. education, training, software, database distribution, technical support, helpdesk). Among these services a web portal with links and access to locally de...

On the Relationship between Central Bank’s Independence and Inflation Rate in Iran

The purpose of present paper was to examine the relationship between central bank independence and inflation rate in Iran over 1960-2008. First, central bank independence has been accomplished through three indices including legal and real CBI indices and turnover rate of central bank governor index. Then, Augmented Dickey-Fuller test for model stationary of variables has been done by applying ...

PATH: a task for the inference of phylogenies

UNLABELLED Phylogenetic Analysis Task in Husar (PATH) is a task for the inference of phylogenies. It executes three phylogenetic methods and automatically chooses the evolutionary model for each set of data. The output of the tasks shows the consensus trees together with full results obtained from all executed methods. AVAILABILITY PATH is available at the German EMBnet node after registratio...
